I am asking if you would take the time to consider becoming a partner with me.  This partnership involves education, economic development opportunities and employment.  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Bill Hawthorne and I am President of A For The People Insurance, Agency.  I have over 20 years of experience in the Insurance Industry as my Agency, a minority-owned business located on Wylie Avenue, has been in existence since 1991.  Because of the knowledge I have of the Insurance Industry, one thing that has stuck out in my mind through out my years is the lack of educational opportunities for the low income community in the arena of Insurance, as well as a need for younger agents in this field (medium age is 55 years old).  This has bothered me for sometime: but now I believe I have a solution: The A For The People Insurance Institute; a place where displaced workers, college students, our veterans, anyone looking for a Career, can get the training and licensing necessary to become Licensed Insurance Agents.

My desire is to provide an opportunity for individuals who reside within the tri state area, particularly minority and low income individuals, to become future employees in the Insurance Industry.  The A For The People Insurance Institute would produce qualified Insurance Brokers and Insurance Support Staff.  We would offer Certificates in Risk Management, Customer Service Specialist, Claims Adjuster, including but not limited to Licensed Insurance Agents.

Now, here is where you can partnership with the Institute.  The cost for class is $500.00 per student: which includes all materials, as well as the cost associated with taking the Pennsylvania Insurance Licensing Test.  In addition, if you know someone who would prosper by taking the course but cannot afford the costs, would you consider being their sponsor?  We would like to offer as many scholarships as possible, and can only do this with your help.  Attached are levels of sponsorship that we offer.

What would you get out of it?  Well, if your business has any insurance needs, you will have a partner in the Industry who is licensed and well trained.  Also, there is someone you know that needs a chance, just an opportunity to change their life; and turn things around.  Here is that opportunity!  Our Institute has an Employment Placement Area that will work diligently to get our students placed in the industry.  And of course, I personally need qualified Licensed Agents to work for my Agency.  Together we can make a difference in someone's life.  Another plus, the institute is a nonprofit venture, which means your sponsorship is considered a charitable contribution.
